The 2009 ILI Fall Meeting was held on Monday, November 9th at the Monroe County Convention Center. The day started with the ILI Fall Board meeting at noon, followed by a Marketing Committee Round Table at 4:00 and the dinner meeting at 5:30. The Round Table was attended by some 40 people and featured a report by the Committee on what they had done so far. Among their accomplishments is this revamped website. After the report was given the attendees broke into groups at tables wherein Committee members served as facilitators. The groups met for some 45 minutes then the ideas from each table were compiled on a flip chart and will be used in future planning by the Committee.
The night meeting was attended by some 100 representatives of ILI member companies and included a dinner and a presentation. The presentation was on sustainability and was given by Kathy Spanier of Cold Spring Granite, a member of the Natural Stone Council's Sustainability Committee. Prior to and after Kathy's presentation, ILI Marketing Committee Chair Rick Johnson gave a brief review of Marketing Committee activities and Executive Director Jim Owens discussed the website, introduced ILI members who had signed on with the organization since the Spring meeting and also reviewed the status of the Natural Stone Council, of which the ILI is one of the founding organizations. From comments heard after the meeting it seems a good time was had by all.

ILI holds two annual dinner meetings: one in spring and one in fall. The ILI board of directors typically meets for lunch, and Institute members gather in the evening for dinner and presentations. Held in the Bloomington area, attendees generally use these as opportunities to meet with their customers and suppliers, to greet old friends and make new ones along the way. The evening meetings include updates from the director on Institute activities, and new members of the Institute are recognized and introduced. Recent meetings, under the direction of the ILI marketing committee, have been very interesting and well received. A brief description of the past three follows:
