Held for the first time in the downtown Bloomington Convention Center, the afternoon featured a roundtable at the Courtyard Marriott (the headquarters' hotel attached to the center). Participants in the roundtable represented ILI member engineering firms, including John Crane from BFW Crane Engineering in Bloomington, Bryan Imhoff from Imhoff Engineering, and Chuck Jones and Gary Kuehn of JKI Engineering (both in Bedford). Attended by some 30 members, the discussion centered on common problems faced by engineers (and stone suppliers) during projects, and provided some general tips on what to look for and how to handle certain situations - all intended to make projects run smoother.
The evening meeting and dinner, attended by some 90 members and guests, included presentations by Louis Centorcelli and Derek Guffey, both of Reed Construction Data of Norcross, Georgia. Louis Centorcelli, the director of business development, spoke on the economy. Derek Guffey, the national account executive, did a presentation on Building Information Modeling. In the end, all agreed that the day had been informative and worthwhile.
